End-to-End Control from Process to Delivery
For automotive lighting molds, quality is not a final inspection — it is end-to-end control from design through machining to validation. Howmin's quality philosophy is simple: build it right with precise processes, then confirm it with real validation. Rather than relying on a single checkpoint, we build an interlocking validation chain so every mold can withstand scrutiny before delivery.

Supporting measurement tools:
Our facility is equipped with granite surface plates, height gauges, and vernier calipers for dimensional checks during machining and assembly.
Precision begins with machines, maintained through calibration
The precision of a mold fundamentally depends on the precision of the machining equipment. Howmin's 5-axis machining center offers 0.004 mm positioning accuracy and 0.002 mm repeatability.
To keep this precision stable over time, we perform regular precision calibration on core machining equipment and maintain calibration records. Equipment precision is the source of mold quality — a stable source is the foundation of everything downstream.

Red-lead proof — the key validation of mold fit
For lighting molds — especially multi-shot and optical parts — mold fit directly determines part quality. Howmin uses red-lead contact validation as a key quality checkpoint:
During die spotting, red-lead (a red marking compound) is applied to the mold face. After repeated closing, contact marks are inspected:
Contact coverage ≥ 80%: pass
Even contact marks: no blank spots (no-contact), no white high spots from squeezed-out red-lead (interference)
Uniform contact, no bias pressure: ensuring even force during molding
Red-lead validation is the most direct and reliable proof of mold fit a mold maker can offer — it relies not on expensive instruments, but on experience and the craft of repeated die spotting. This is the core skill Howmin has accumulated over 30 years.

Real molding is the final test
A mold's final quality is validated in actual injection molding. Howmin supports customer in-house trials and makes corrections based on results:
-
An issue list is provided and tracked item by item
-
Issues found at trial are corrected by Howmin until acceptance standards are met
-
Overseas customers receive English trial reports, with video or remote confirmation
The Four-Stage Validation Chain

1 Annual machine precision calibration 0.004 mm positioning / 0.002 mm repeatability
2 Red-lead contact validation Contact coverage ≥ 80%
3 Customer in-house trial feedback Real molding validation

Toward ISO 9001:2015
Howmin is implementing the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, with certification expected in Q3 2026. During implementation, we have established:
A controlled document system and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Quality records and traceability
Nonconformance handling and corrective-action processes
The ISO implementation systematizes, documents, and makes traceable the quality practices Howmin has accumulated over 30 years — providing institutional quality assurance for international clients.
