Quotation & Cooperation FAQ
Q: How much does an automotive lighting mold cost?
A: Mold price varies widely with size, cavities, steel, surface grade, and whether it's multi-shot, so there's no single figure. The five main cost drivers are mold size, cavity count, steel selection, optical surface grade, and multi-shot structure. Send us 3D or 2D data and we'll provide a formal quote within 2 working days.
Q: What do you need to prepare a quote?
A: Ideally 3D data (STP ); 2D drawings (PDF / DWG) or a physical sample also work. Telling us the target resin, estimated annual volume, and required lead time speeds up the quote and improves accuracy.
Q: Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
A: A mold is a single-unit development — there's no "minimum quantity" for the mold itself. If you mean the injection production MOQ afterward, that depends on your chosen molding partner, and we can help connect you.
Q: What are the payment terms for a first order?
A: Staged payment is standard in the mold industry — deposit, milestone on dimensional approval, and balance before shipment. For a first cross-border order we recommend staged payment so both sides share risk. Exact terms are confirmed at quotation.
Q: Can you do mold design only, without manufacturing?
A: Yes. We offer standalone mold design and mold flow analysis; we also accept commissions for individual stages such as reverse engineering or flow analysis.
Q: How long is a quote valid?
A: Quotes state a validity period because steel and outsourcing prices fluctuate. Expired quotes are recalculated to reflect current cost.
